60 decibels
60 Decibels is a global, tech-enabled impact measurement company that brings speed and scalability to social impact measurement and customer insights. We provide genuine benchmarks of impact performance, enabling organizations to understand impact relative to peers and set performance targets. We have a network of 1400+ researchers in 80+ countries and have worked with more than 1000 of the world’s leading impact investors, companies, foundations, corporations, NGOs, and public sector organizations.
60dB developed the Microfinance (MFI) Index, an increasingly accepted standard for measurable, comparable customer-centric social outcomes in microfinance. Over the last few years, 60dB has listened to the voices of 50,000+ borrowers of 150+ microfinance institutions from 40+ countries around the world. 60dB has worked with 25+ impact investors, many of whom at e-MfP members to help them measure the impact of their microfinance portfolios.
60 Decibels’ mission is to elevate the voices of typically underserved communities and ensure greater accountability and transparency in the social impact industry. By systematically listening to the communities and stakeholders that socially minded organisations seek to serve, 60dB helps measure social impact and enable organisations to make better decisions to maximize their positive impact.
Incoming innovations
We hope to build deeper country level benchmarks for meaningful comparability across a larger number of countries in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. We plan to expand the range of impact outcomes clients can focus on to deepen their understanding of customer impact in areas such gender, client protection, climate resilience and more. Over time, we hope to create a growing database of impact data collected directly from MFI’s borrowers that key players can use to make the industry more transparent, accountable, and effective at creating positive social impact.
