European Microfinance Award 2014 on Microfinance and the Environment

Prepared by Tanja Havemann and Fred Werneck, Clarmondial GmbH, March 2015.

This publication features the ten organisations and their projects which were shortlisted for the European Microfinance Award 2014 on Microfinance and the Environment.

Green microfinance is small, but it is growing rapidly. More and more MFIs, investors, donors, and networks get interested in and implement new and innovative initiatives. This is an exciting future for green microfinance in terms of opportunities, innovations and development and the candidates for the European Microfinance Award 2014 are a microcosm of what committed MFIs can do to foster environmental sustainability.
